Twelve years ago today, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing premiered on Toonami (time flies, man). As a means of celebrating its twelfth anniversary, I've created this commentfic thread.

Trowa/Quatre - Quatre is anything but weak.

There's fire that blazes in those eyes.

Quatre's face contorts as he settles his gun in firmly against his shoulder, taking quick but careful aim as he fires off round after round, darting lightning quick across down the hallway towards where Trowa is being held captive. When the air lock slides open, his temples are damp with sweat, and his chest heaves with both exertion and adrenaline.

Quatre is anything but weak, and yet again and again the enemy under estimates him. They see him coming with wide blue eyes and softly entreating stares, and they think he's not a threat; but it's always a surprise when wide blue eyes narrow and harden and there's a bullet piercing through the meat of their shoulder as he barrels past them.

Quatre is built of hard muscle and pure force of will. What injuries he sustains play second fiddle to his completing a mission - especially if that mission is to rescue someone he cares about. Emotionally, Quatre is the strongest person that Trowa knows. Quatre gave up his family to fight for what he believed, and there's no greater strength a person could show.

These are the qualities that made Trowa fall so helplessly in love with Quatre. It wasn't a conscious decision, not until one idle moment between volleys of gunfire that Trowa looked over at the other boy in his gundam and something burned hot in his stomach and tightened painfully in his chest.

Quatre is anything but weak, because when Trowa quietly confessed his feelings, Quatre confidently returned the sentiment, no fear in his tone, his eyes, his face; nothing but pure confidence.

Trowa feels weak so often, and it's Quatre who gives him strength.
